QATAR MOTOR SHOW 2013 TO ATTRACT REGIONAL ATTENTION ON 29 JANUARY FOR FIVE DAYS

Over the past two editions, the Qatar Motor Show was able to raise the bench-mark among the other regional motor shows, especially in regards to the high-caliber automotive managers and CEOs attending the motor-show as well as in regard to the automotive summits and conferences.

Therefore the Qatar Motor Show can be indeed considered one of the most anticipated event in the Qatari calendar.

It will open its doors to the public on January 29, 2013 and run for five days to end on the 2nd of February in the Doha Exhibition Center.

The event will showcase the latest models from the world’s top car brands. Hosted jointly by the Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA), q.media Events, and GL Events, the organizers held a press conference at the W Hotel in Doha, sharing the details of this high-calibre event.

The Qatar Tourism Authority Head of Exhibitions Organizing (Acting), Mr. Ammar Al Saadi, shared his thoughts on the importance of the event for Qatar and the region, and the MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferencing, and Exhibitions) industry in the country and the role that the sector plays in accordance with the diversification goals of the Qatar National Vision 2030.

“Qatar Tourism Authority have sought to put our stamp on this spectacular event as it reflects Qatar's growing stature in the world, due in part to the nation’s explosive economic growth in the past 10 years as the country has successfully developed its vast natural resources in gas and oil and exported these to markets around the world,” said Al Saadi.

“In line with a strong national vision imparted by our country's esteemed leadership, Qatar has thus emerged as a flagship new business destination in the Gulf region with the ability to host so many international exhibitions, conferences, meetings and special events – and this makes the Qatar Motor Show even more special.”

“Each year the Qatar Motor Show has put the country firmly on the global automotive industry map by showcasing the newest models and the latest industry developments, many for the first time ever, in Qatar,” continued Al Saadi. “We have a sensational line-up this year of international car brands – some of which will be world premieres - alongside interesting side events taking place concurrently with the motor show”.

Al Saadi highlighted the importance of the Qatar Motor Show, not only to the MICE sector, but to Qatar’s tourism segment as a whole.

“We at the Qatar Tourism Authority want to realize our aim to build this into one the region's most important motor event that attracts international interest on a large scale,” said Al Saadi.

According to Al Saadi, the motor industry is important to Qatar and equally Qatar is a significant market for the car industry, both underlining how important QTA’s drive behind the show is, making nothing less than a massive highpoint in the region’s calendar that brings visitors to Qatar in huge numbers.

Mr. Roger Abi Haidar, q.media events’ General Manager, after thanking the Qatar Tourism Authority for the support provided and GL event as a co-organizer for investing their International experience and know-how in this field to make the Qatar Motor Show one of the best in the world, unveiled the identity of the 2013 Qatar Motor Show – a striking logo featuring the combination of Qatar’s symbol along with a sports car basking in a glowing aura.

“We believe that this concept is fitting for the Qatar Motor Show – a concept that bridges our heritage with the future,” said Abi Haidar. “Two important elements were merged into one: the falcon, the symbol of our great State of Qatar, and a sports car – an obvious representation of the Qatar Motor Show itself. The merger combines tradition, power, and speed all into one, with the bright and glowing colours representing the very same effect that a car speeding through the night would have.”

Abi Haidar also touched upon what can be expected at the event, encouraging visitors far and wide to visit the five-day event, alluding to the event’s theme of “Stand Out from the Crowd.”

“Practically every car brand will unveil their latest models – some for the first time in the region, and others for the first time in the world.

The Arab world’s first locally-designed and manufactured luxury hyper car will be showcased for the first time.

Furthermore we are very proud to host Bertone, a pillar in the exclusive prestigious automobile industry; a brand synonymous with innovation and luxury since 1912. As well as Perfectly preserved vehicles from previous generations will be paraded together in the Classic Car Show.

Outdoors, visitors can enjoy watching experts drift their powerful cars, obstacle courses, and other sporting activities,” said Abi Haidar.

The 2013 Qatar Motor Show, one of the region’s biggest automotive event, will showcase brands from across the globe, from family sedans, to SUVs, luxury vehicles, and to sports cars.
